The home of a popular bakery in a Buckinghamshire town popular with foodies and celebrities is still on the market. Burgers of Marlow was put up for sale last month with an asking price of £4.5m.

Owner Bernard Burger put the property, situated on The Causeway in Marlow , up for sale in September but as yet the bakery remains unsold. The family-run business lasted three generations, having been opened in 1942 by Eric and Marie Burger.

Burgers had offered Swiss continental heritage to the town for 70 years. But now the bakery is set to be sold with planning permission having been granted by Buckinghamshire Council last year to change the property to a restaurant with a bakery in the rear.

The Grade II-listed property is currently for sale via Duncan Bailey Kennedy and Deriaz Campsie. A brochure advertising the former bakery describes it as being in a "prominent position" opposite Higginson Park and two minutes from the River Thames.

Included in the sale of the property is a two-bedroom flat above the bakery, 7 Station Road - an occupied retail unit with a bakery - and a one-bedroom cottage at 87 The Causeway. Take a look around the property with our gallery below.
